Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 Business Central latest release of version 17 adds some handy new features. 3 really helpful ones are covered here:
Check Financial Journals In Background
When entering a general journal, Business Central will check for any issues with that entry before you are even ready to post it. The Journal Check issues are shown in the tiles to the right in the FactBox pane, for example:
Clicking on the ‘Issues Total’ tile will open a list of all the issues:
This comes in handy with entries with many lines and allows you to correct any issues on-the-fly so you don’t have to hunt them down later when trying to post.
The Company Hub
This new functionality brings in any user tasks and important account balances by company into one, easy to view list. Each company name is also clickable and will open that company in your browser directly from this list:
We can now specify when a new feature is rolled out using the Feature Management screen. You can turn on a feature, test it, and decide whether you want it to be enabled going forward. Clicking on the Feature name will take you to a detailed description of it:
