*note Dynamics CRM is also called Dynamics CE (Customer Engagement)*

Connecting  ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) to  CRM (Customer Relationship Management) can be easy with the Microsoft Cloud.

Comments we hear frequently are:

  • We can’t have our sales people working in our financial software.
  • We are looking to move to a cloud-based ERP with a CRM system.
  • We have outgrown Quickbooks and need a more secure sales order and inventory system.
  • We want our sales and service people to see ERP data in CRM such as payment information and invoices.

With the Microsoft Stack, this process is getting easier to implement and maintain. The D365 CE / Business Central integration gives you a lead-to-cash process.

If you are not familiar with Business Central but remember NAV, Business Central was designed to be NAV in the cloud. Business Central is a true ERP system that will help with these functions:

  • Financial management
  • Supply chain management
  • Project and resource management
  • Warehouse management
  • Service order management
  • Manufacturing

Microsoft CRM has been around since 2003! Although still available for on-premise users, it has primarily a cloud version since 2016.

Today’s version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement comes in various applications.

  • Dynamics 365 for Sales
  • Dynamics 365 for Customer Service
  • Dynamics 365 for Marketing
  • Dynamics 365 for Field Service
  • Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation

More about the D365 CE user interface can be found in a previous blog

What you really need to know is:

  • Easy for administrating licenses
  • Products updated in Business Central will be updated in D365 CE
  • Licensing
    • Bundled licensing is available
    • GP and SL users can take advantage of having Business Central licenses to use.
  • Sales quotes/orders can be created in D365 and procured in Business Central.
